It is a twenty 20 format game, which at first began with five teams Islamabad United, Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators, Karachi Kings, and Lahore Qalandars. These teams owned by known personalities like Ali Naqvi and Amna Naqvi, Javed Afridi, Nadeem Omar, Salman Iqbal, and Rana Fawad.
To add the charm to the super league, famous personalities, including Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Maya Ali and Shehzad Roy and many more connected with it, making the occasion more attractive and appealing.
In the beginning, PSL was played in UAE after that a few international players showed interest in it. However, the accomplishment of PSL first season made them change their views. Accordingly, PSL 2 was an elegant event. A large number of the audience came to Lahore for the finals making history.

The few top international players who are suspected to be the part of PSL 2020 draft are AB de Villiers, Luke Ronchi, Corey Anderson, Kieron Pollard, Sandeep Lamichhane, Chris Gayle, Sunil Narine, Dwayne Bravo, Ben Laughlin, Shane Watson, Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan, Mohammad Shahzad, Thisara Perera, Tamim Iqbal, Mustafizur Rahman, Mohammad Shafuddin and some Sri Lankan players who recently toured Pakistan for ODI and T20I series.
These players are expected to be part of the Pakistan Super League 2020 or PSL 5.
It also declared that a total of 120 foreign players would take part in the draft, and all franchisees will have lots of options to choose and pick the right players in the official draft event of PSL 2020.

Pakistan Super League 2020 is the fifth season of the Pakistan Super League. The session will be held totally in Pakistan for the first time. The opening ceremony would be at Karachi 20 February 2020. The matches scheduled to happen between 20 February 2020 and 22 March 2020.
